Son House Reunion

This past weekend (Thurs - Sat) Baxter and I headed to Sandbridge (Virginia Beach) with the girls I lived with at JMU. We enjoyed some sweet fellowship, long walks, good food and the ocean! Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Like father like son - Owen was eating an opened face PB sandwhich on a bagel the other day. He was holding it with his fingers so that he didn't get all messy.



One of Owen's birthday gifts - new legos!



Owen was gifted with these new rain boots with a matching jacket from our friends the Harrises. They were here for home group one night when it was thundering and Owen was VERY afraid. To help Owen trust in the Lord, they brought him this sweet gift in a bag that encouraged him towards that end.

We found this kitchen at a yard sale near Matt's parents house this past weekend. (Yard sales are wonderful for kids toys!!) Owen has really enjoyed playing with it. Maybe he'll grow up to be like Mr. Jake Hunt and love to cook!

Owen saw Matt with his hands in his pockets the other night and wanted to put his hands in his pockets too. Here is the result. Look out ladies! Doesn't he look like he's in a fashion show or something? What a funny boy!

Strange title for a blog, huh?! We have been amazed and encouraged by Owen and the capacity he has to remember things that we tell him or things that we read. Here is a quick video of Owen reciting the words to Amazing Grace and Psalm 23. We hope and pray that these words would take root in his heart!

A few new favorites

We went to watch the Monument 10K the other day (4th largest 10K in America!) here in Richmond. It was sprinkling and so there were some puddles. Owen enjoyed playing in the puddles while we watched the race. After the race his pants were soaked, and so while he watched a show and ate a snack, here is how cute he looked!

Basketball

Owen LOVES basketball right now. We haven't yet broken the news to him that March Madness is over. Matt was able to capture a sweet exchange of Owen sharing his basketball with Baxter the other day. Enjoy!

First Road Trip

We got to see my brother and sister in law (Bryan and Becky) and their kids (Reese, Megan and Nathan) at my parents house this week for a day. It was a great time to visit and a great chance for them to meet Baxter and for us to meet Nathan!
