Does it get better than this for a little boy? Owen was playing with his dump truck. The dump truck was driving around the toy chest (vroom vroom) carrying 3 balls (bah). What a boy!

Reading
Well, we all know that Owen loves reading. If you can recall pictures in the past of Owen sitting in a pile of books reading to his hearts content. Well, the other day, he ventured up to the 2nd shelf of the book case. He was very sweetly holding and thumbing through a book by Rev. Charles Stanley. He's ready for some books with no pictures.
Swim Lessons
Owen has been taking swim lessons for the past few months. We have only been able to go to a few of the lessons because of our trips to Richmond for interviews and house searches, but we had a lot of fun on the few that we went to. He even went under water and didn't cry! This past Saturday was the last class. Matt was able to join us and take some pictures and a video!
Owen and Mommy enjoying the pool.
Here we are practicing "jumping" into the water. You have them sit or stand on the edge of the pool. Sing "Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall, Humpty Dumpty had a big fall. 1, 2, 3." Then you jump them into the water. And you sing "All the kings horses and all the kings men couldn't get Humpty together again" as you swim them back to the wall and get them out of the water to try again.
Here we are before the jump.
Jumping.
Practicing the back float - Owen just chills out!
This is to help them to get used to being on their tummy in the water. While we were doing this and another game, Owen would smile, look around at the other kids/parents, and clap his hands under the water. So sweet!
We'll post a video when we can figure that out :)

New House!
We spent a couple of days in Richmond last week looking for houses. God was faithful and provided more than we could have asked or imagined. We feel very blessed and provided for. Below are pictures of the new Purdy home. Our closing date is June 6th, so we'll be moving up there around that time. We are so excited for our new home and new job, but it will be very sad to leave the people we love here in Charlotte. Pray for us as we transition. We trust that this is where the Lord has called us, and we are eager to see what He has for us there.
The Front of the House.
My favorite - the Kitchen! The current owners have done such a great job keeping up and remodeling the house!
The back of the house/back yard/back porch.

The Lord is Risen
Happy Easter!
We had a great weekend celebrating two very special things - Matt's 27th Birthday and Easter. My parents came down to celebrate with us. We enjoyed some good time with them - it was a blessing!
On Saturday, we had an Easter Egg Hunt with our church at a park in Charlotte. Unfortunately, it was 34 degrees with a 24 degree wind chill. It was pretty miserable. Owen was very unhappy with life. He didn't want to have anything to do with Easter Eggs. We stayed for about an hour and then got him home to a warm house.
Here he is posing with the eggs before the hunt began.
See how happy our sweet boy was?!
Saturday night we read the story of Christ's death and resurrection in Owen's Bible. It's so good to have this special time of year to really think about the gift of salvation in Christ. What a joy to share that with our sweet boy!
Here is a famiy picture from Easter morning.
Kiss kiss.
